We would like to invite you all to attend our “Spook” of Creation Halloween Fair on Sunday, October 24th from 12:00-3:00 PM at SOC Studio. This year’s Halloween fair will include Halloween carnival games, arts and crafts, contests, prizes, sweet treats and the “Haunted Halls of SOC” (only the bravest of the brave should enter). Feel free to bring a sweet or savory treat to share. Listed below is our schedule of events for the day:

“MULAN” A FULL LENGTH YOUTH MUSICAL THEATER PRODUCTION

When Spark of Creation Studio first opened in the summer of 2006, I always hoped that one day our studio would be able offer students more than just dance and music classes, but also a full musical theater experience for the youth of our community. As we celebrate our 5th year, I am excited to announce that in the spring of 2011, Spark of Creation Studio will be producing “Disney’s – Mulan Jr.”, a full length musical for youth ages 7-17. Students participating in this musical will have the opportunity to learn about and participate in all aspects of live musical theater, including singing, acting and dancing, costume design, set design and stage performance. Rehearsals will begin in the month of January 2011 and our shows will be performed in the month of May 2011. Open auditions will be held on December 10-11, 2010 at Spark of Creation Studio. Detailed audition and show information are listed below:
OPEN AUDITIONS: December 10th – 3:30-6:30 PM

CALLBACKS: December 11, 2010 – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

REHEARSALS: Saturdays 1:00-4:00 PM (January-April).

PARTICIPATION FEES: $75.00/month (January – April), plus costume fees

AUDITION INFORMATION:
- Please prepare a song for your audition. Students may bring a CD without vocals (accompaniment/karaoke track) or sheet music, and an accompanist will be provided.
- Please bring a resume and headshot to your audition. Resumes should include all contact information and any performing arts training you may have. Headshots can be a school picture or solo snapshot photo.
- Please be prepared to fill out a calendar with all conflicts you might have with other activities such as school events and sports.

I encourage anyone who loves to sing, dance or act to attend our open auditions. Being a part of a musical theater cast always left me with wonderful memories, and we hope to provide these same positive experiences to all students who would like to participate in this production.
